Life can bring so many issues so fast that it is easy for someone to grow weary in well-doing. It is easy to think that God has forgotten us or is too busy. It is, also easy to think that He is more concerned and responsive to other people than to us when we are in pain or we need Him to work fast for a family member who may be struggling. Scripture repeatedly portrays God as attentive and a caring Savior (Psalm 23; 91; Luke 12:22-34; 1 Peter 3:8-17). Especially when troubles persist for long periods of time, He promises to never leave us nor forsake us, only to test us, so that we have a true picture of our hearts (Deuteronomy 8:1-6).

That love determines whether or not our prayers...
