Imagine that you are in prison in Rome during the 1st century AD.  Epaphroditus visits you and brings an offering from the Philippian church.  Epaphroditus may also have been a wealthy person, who added to the funds given “in service of the Gospel” by the Philippian congregation.  He also labored with Paul in his ministry to the point that he became seriously ill.

In his thank you to the church in Philippians 4:18 Paul says, “But I have received everything in full and in abundance; I am amply supplied, having received from Epaphroditus what you have sent, a fragrant aroma, an acceptable sacrifice, well-pleasing to God.”

Paul saw the Philippian gift—which was very generous—as an offering not to him but to God, using language that would be used in the Jewish temple worship.  It was a fragrant and acceptable sacrifice, and act of worship, which gratified God.

But how does this relate to Power Walk Ministries?  Your gift to the ministry is not a gift to me or to Power Walk Ministries—we are merely vehicles by which God performs His ministry.  The true recipient of your gift is our Lord, who receives your gift as He did the Philippian’s gift—as an action of worship.  The vehicle is Power Walk Ministries—but the gift is really to our Lord!

There is another worthy idea here.  Epaphroditus also labored beside Paul.  That is what you do when you support Power Walk Ministries—you labor beside us—right beside us—for the kingdom of God.

If the idea of clear biblical teaching with immediate practical application interests you or if our training ministry for leaders in small churches in overlooked places appeals to you, I ask you to make a year-end gift to God’s work through Power Walk Ministries. The information below tells you how you can do that.  Your gift will increase and expand the IMPACT of Power Walk Ministries.
